Guided by Maria Montessori’s Vision

Montessori exists all over the world. Millions of children and youth exploring, building, and creating across countries, and cultures.

Just imagine how many ideas, challenges, and solutions are unfolding in Montessori environments right now.

What if we build on each other’s ideas?

What if we collaborate and share our experiences?

Guided by Maria Montessori’s vision, we connect children and adolescents from the Montessori community through shared ideas, experiences, and initiatives.

Social Party of the Child

Social Party of the Child

A Foundation for Global Citizenship

Maria Montessori introduced the Social Party of the Child in 1937. She argued that children are not merely future citizens, they are citizens of the world whose needs, rights, and voices must be recognized and represented.

The vision was simple but powerful: the child is the builder of humanity, and the future of society depends on how we support and include children in the present. Her conviction that children are citizens with rights later found its way into international law with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Montessori International Student Council builds on Maria Montessori’s legacy by creating a global structure where children and youth are not only heard, but actively collaborate, take initiative, and contribute across environments, countries, and cultures.

Connected through student councils

Connected through student councils

“I hope the network continues to inspire.”

Joournals is a community for all, with student councils serving as connection points for children and youth to connect and engage nationally and internationally.

National councils unite children and youth within each country, while international cooperation between councils creates a connected global Montessori community.
